Chrono, Tokoha, and Shion compete in a team tournament where victory grants points for grade 3 promotion. Their progress stalls when Chrono detects cheating by Team Trick Trick and attempts to expose them. The team leader fabricates an injury caused by Chrono, disrupting another ongoing cardfight. A judge, misled by the deception, orders Chrono’s removal from the tournament and loss of grade. After Chrono departs in anger, Shion reveals the cheating tactics to the authorities. In a subsequent FIVA meeting chaired by Kouji, Team Trick Trick receives a five-year ban from official tournaments. Chrono is penalized by the forfeiture of all his fighter points despite his innocence.
