Mamoru invites Kouji to dinner, where they play a Vanguard game while discussing Chrono, the team tournament incident, and their differing beliefs about the game. Mamoru prioritizes fun, whereas Kouji focuses on winning. Meanwhile, with one week remaining until the regional tournament entry deadline, Tokoha and Shion assist Chrono in completing quests to earn enough points for grade 3. Chrono misses many opportunities to help a lost young boy. Just as hope fades, Mamoru creates a special quest tailored to Chrono’s situation. Chrono, Tokoha, and Shion accept this quest, which provides the necessary points for Chrono to reach grade 3.
