Miyaji Academy high schoolers participate in the traditional mountain camping trip, beginning with a global orienteering challenge. The Cardfight Club teams with Akari to navigate checkpoints, during which she shares a legend about eternal love under a tree by a lake. Although Kourin misses an opportunity to speak with Aichi, the group returns first, earning praise from classmates and angering the student council. After dinner, the club and other students watch the VF High School Championship final on television, witnessing Ren defeat Leon to win the title for Fukuhara High School. This victory inspires the viewers, increasing their appreciation for Vanguard and delighting Aichi. Irritated by this shift, student council members Naito and Suwabe decide to learn the game to defeat the club. That night, Kourin fails to talk to Aichi again but remains determined to try the following day.
