Julio and townsfolk sentence Ange to death by hanging, prompting her to march to the gallows while singing about human cruelty toward Normas. Tusk abruptly saves her, resulting in an awkward situation as they flee the empire, with Ange wounding Julio’s face using a thrown blade. En route to Arzenal, Tusk reveals that Jill knows everything about the Villkiss and ordered Ange to survive. Upon arrival, Ange and Hilda are detained, sharing their bitter experiences and recognizing the cruelty of their respective nations. They become comrades and vow to destroy the world upon release. Ange begins singing the same song from her execution, which is heard by the entire Arzenal staff.
