Raichi returns to the batter's box for a second match against Manaka. Although Manaka initially appears to have the advantage with good pitches, an unfortunate bounce causes an injury. Without Manaka, the team's pitching struggles, and Raichi's hits decide the outcome of the Yakushi/Ichidai game, shocking Seido members. The team must now prepare for an opponent with no advance data, having watched only one match. As first-years struggle to return to the bus, they find Raichi and Raizou practicing. Raizou's comment that no other pitchers concern Raichi until facing Narumiya Mei infuriates Sawamura and Furuya. Kominato shares this news, causing the entire team to feel motivated.
