Following their victory, Seido remains to watch Manaka pitch, seeking an edge for the upcoming quarterfinals. Tanba recalls his history with Manaka and vows to compete in that match. Yakushi has altered their roster, placing three first-year players in the third, fourth, and fifth positions. When Raichi Todoroki steps up, he hits Manaka’s best fastball out of the stadium, giving Yakushi a 1-0 lead. Ichidai is compelled to make an early pitching change, moving Manaka to the outfield, which turns the game into a slugfest. As the fifth inning nears, Manaka insists on returning to the mound to secure a spot in the quarterfinals. Ichidai agrees, and Manaka comes back with improved control. This segment adapts chapters 89 through 91.
