Raichi hits a double and scores on a single to give Yakushi a 1-0 advantage. Miyuki encourages Furuya by highlighting his reliable teammates, and a successful caught steal boosts Seido's morale. In the bottom of the first, Masuko hits a two-run home run, putting Seido ahead 3-1. Realizing his strategy is insufficient, Raizou decides to insert Sanada into the lineup earlier than planned. He intends for Raichi to defeat Furuya during his second at-bat. The narrative adapts chapters 98 through 100 of the manga series.
