EP 49Kari reunites with allies and uses her crest to empower Digimon against WaruMonzaemon and Machinedramon.
Feb 20, 2000After recovering, Kari joins Sora and T.K. to locate the remaining group members. They encounter WaruMonzaemon, who has enslaved Numemon. Kari liberates the Numemon, who subsequently address her as "Queen." Her crest restores energy to Biyomon and Gatomon, enabling them to repel WaruMonzaemon, who is then destroyed by Machinedramon for his incompetence. Andromon, previously met by Tai and Izzy on File Island, engages Machinedramon in combat. The Numemon sacrifice themselves to protect Kari. Kari’s crest then recharges Agumon, allowing him to digivolve into WarGreymon. WarGreymon effortlessly defeats Machinedramon with a single strike, sustaining no damage and initially appearing to miss his target entirely.
EP 50The Digidestined confront Piedmon and LadyDevimon while Joe and Mimi find Elecmon.
Feb 27, 2000The Digidestined reach Spiral Mountain to face Piedmon, but LadyDevimon ambushes them. Her seductive demeanor distracts the boys, while the girls remain unimpressed. LadyDevimon proves powerful, battling Angewomon, MegaKabuterimon, Andromon, Angemon, Birdramon, and Agumon simultaneously. Tai sends Sora and T.K. to find the others. Joe and Mimi discover Elecmon at Primary Village, who joins them. Joe and Gomamon seek their own role. Angewomon struggles against LadyDevimon’s cunning. Provoked by taunts, Angewomon engages in a physical fight, getting knocked down by a kick. MegaKabuterimon saves Angewomon before LadyDevimon can finish her, setting the stage for the final battle with Piedmon.
EP 51Matt and Sora confront inner darkness while Matt and Tai's friendship heals WarGreymon.
Mar 5, 2000WarGreymon fights Piedmon but is overpowered. Matt and Sora face their inner darkness. Matt reconciles with Tai, activating the Crest of Friendship to heal WarGreymon. The DigiDestined, excluding Mimi, reunite. WarGreymon and MetalGarurumon prepare to battle Piedmon.
EP 52Piedmon reveals a keychain ability, but Angemon digivolves to MagnaAngemon to defeat him.
Mar 12, 2000After Matt and Joe return, Piedmon uses a cloth to turn allies into keychains. Andromon stalls him while the group flees. Gomamon sacrifices himself to retrieve Matt’s keychain for T.K. Kari and T.K. stay behind as Patamon becomes Angemon to protect them. Angemon falls, sending the children toward death. T.K. sees Matt’s keychain, which activates his crest. Angemon digivolves to MagnaAngemon, defeating Piedmon and restoring everyone. Piedmon summons Vilemon, but Mimi arrives with friends to help. MagnaAngemon sucks Piedmon into the Gate of Destiny. The Dark Masters are gone, but an email from Gennai warns of a new enemy causing Digital World destruction.
EP 53The DigiDestined face Apocalymon after their Crests are shattered and they are deleted into data space.
Mar 19, 2000Despite defeating the Dark Masters, the Digital World faces total destruction from Apocalymon, the true mastermind born from rejected Digimon data. He reveals his hatred for the DigiDestined, replicates past attacks, and regresses their partners to their usual forms. Using Devimon's Dark Claw, he shatters the Crests and deletes the children and Digimon into the data space. There, their partners encourage them with shared memories, revealing that true Crest power resides within them. Empowered by this realization, the DigiDestined digivolve their partners into their strongest forms and return to the Digital World to confront Apocalymon once more.
EP 54The DigiDestined face Apocalymon's final attack and prepare to return home
Mar 26, 2000WarGreymon and MetalGarurumon mortally wound Apocalymon, who attempts Total Annihilation to destroy both worlds. The DigiDestined's Digivices form a barrier to contain the blast, allowing the Digital World to reformat. Upon arriving at File Island, the group sees Ogremon depart and decides to spend their summer there. Gennai and Centarumon inform them that time is synchronized, giving them two hours to return before the portal closes forever. Each child shares a final moment with their partner, except Mimi, whose Digimon Palmon runs off. Palmon arrives just in time to say goodbye as the group enters the trolley car. Tai believes their adventure is not truly over and that they will return when the portal opens again.
