EP 1Seven children receive mysterious items and meet Digimon in the Digital World
Mar 7, 1999Global climate anomalies, including a July blizzard in Japan, lead seven campers to receive items from an aurora. They are transported to the Digital World, where Tai meets Koromon. The group reunites with their respective Digimon companions: Motimon, Yokomon, Tokomon, Tsunomon, and Bukamon. Mimi joins them while fleeing Kuwagamon, which previously attacked Tai and Izzy. Cornered on a cliff edge, the small Digimon evolve into combat forms to defeat the enemy. The Digimon sacrifice themselves to protect the children, preventing Kuwagamon from destroying them all.
EP 2Agumon Evolves into Greymon to Save Tai from Shellmon Attack
Mar 14, 1999Kuwagamon triggers a cliff collapse, sending the children and their Digimon toward a river. Joe’s partner summons fish to catch them, saving the group as Kuwagamon crashes into the water. After reaching shore, the partners reintroduce their new rookie forms while the group tries to figure out their location and how to return home. Agumon reveals they are the first humans in the Digital World. Tai leads them to the ocean, where they find broken telephone booths. While resting, Shellmon attacks. Only Agumon is strong enough to fight because the others have not eaten. Tai is captured, prompting Agumon to evolve into Greymon and defeat the enemy by throwing Shellmon into the sea.
EP 3Garurumon Evolves to Defeat Seadramon After Tai Accidentally Provokes the Beast
Mar 21, 1999The group departs the beach and encounters a territorial dispute between two Monochromon, escaping safely to find a trolleycar near a lake at dusk. They catch fish for dinner and agree to take turns keeping watch overnight, but Tai and Matt argue over who takes the first shift. During his watch, Tai accidentally wakes a Seadramon by dropping a burning stick on its tail. The creature drags the trolleycar to the center of the lake and attacks Matt while he attempts to rescue his brother and friends. Gabumon immediately evolves into Garurumon, defeating the monster. Gomamon's fish then return the island to land, allowing the group to fall asleep.
EP 4Biyomon Gains Firepower After Evolving to Save the Village
Mar 28, 1999The group enters a desert where Mimi's compass fails due to metallic sand. They find a Yokomon village whose water source is dry and burning. Sora learns that Agumon and Gabumon digivolved to protect their partners. Meramon, a fire Digimon with a Black Gear, attacks the village in pain. Biyomon fights him but is overpowered until she evolves into Birdramon. Birdramon removes the Black Gear, restoring Meramon. The Yokomon invite the group to dinner, but the children cannot eat the food.
EP 5Kabuterimon's Electro Shocker
Apr 4, 1999The group splits after finding a factory. Izzy discovers strange coding while Matt, TK, and Mimi enter an endless loop of assembly and disassembly. Tai’s team finds a cyborg-Digimon named Andromon trapped in machinery. They release him, accidentally freeing a black gear inside. Andromon attacks them and reunites with the others. He overpowers Greymon and Garurumon. Izzy uses the coding to digivolve Tentomon to Kabuterimon. Kabuterimon destroys the black gear controlling Andromon. Andromon apologizes for his behavior. He then guides the children to the next area through a sewer.
EP 6Togemon battles Monzaemon in Toy Town to free captured children and Digimon
Apr 11, 1999During their escape from Numemon in the sewers, the group is separated. Mimi and Palmon arrive in Toy Town, where they encounter other children behaving strangely. They discover that Monzaemon has captured their Digimon partners and enchanted the kids to play with toys. When Numemon attack to protect Mimi, Palmon digivolves into Togemon. Togemon destroys the Black Gear controlling Monzaemon, which breaks the spell and restores the children and their partners to their normal states.
EP 7Joe and Gomamon face Unimon on Infinity Mountain while Tai and Sora arrive to help
Apr 18, 1999Joe and Gomamon choose to scale Infinity Mountain independently after Tai and Matt debate the merits of the climb. During their ascent, they encounter an attack by Unimon. Tai and Sora intervene to assist the pair. In the ensuing conflict, Gomamon evolves into Ikkakumon to prevent Joe from falling after being bucked off the creature. Ikkakumon subsequently destroys the Black Gear controlling Unimon. Following the battle, the group reaches the summit and discovers that their location is an island.
EP 8Leomon and Ogremon attack the children while Devimon creates an illusionary mansion trap.
Apr 25, 1999The group faces an assault from Leomon and his rival Ogremon, prompting the Digimon to digivolve and repel the champions. They subsequently reach a mysterious mansion, which is revealed to be a deceptive construct by Devimon, the mastermind behind the Black Gears seeking to eliminate the DigiDestined. After Tai’s Digivice liberates him from the Black Gear’s control, Leomon sacrifices his brief freedom to allow Tai to escape. Devimon then shatters File Island into several smaller islands, causing the children and their partners to become separated from one another.
EP 9Tai and Agumon defeat Frigimon to clear Black Gears and help Matt and Gabumon cross the island.
May 2, 1999Tai and Agumon arrive on a snowy island and use soccer skills to defeat Frigimon, allowing Agumon to remove Black Gears. Frigimon then assists them in crossing to the island where Matt and Gabumon are located. Matt ignores Gabumon’s advice to search for TK, resulting in hypothermia. Gabumon saves Matt by sharing his pelt for warmth. The next day, the boys argue over their next move before Mojyamon attacks. Frigimon feeds the Digimon, enabling Agumon and Gabumon to digivolve and expel the Black Gears controlling Mojyamon. Garurumon detects Black Gears behind a wall and destroys them, causing the island to shift back toward Infinity Mountain.
EP 10Mimi and Izzy face attacks from Centarumon and Leomon while seeking answers in the labyrinth.
May 9, 1999Mimi and Palmon are harassed by Sukamon and Chuumon before and after freeing them from Black Gears. They escape to an island where Izzy and Tentomon are located. Izzy’s focus on wall writing upsets Mimi, leading her and Tentomon to get lost in a labyrinth while being attacked by Centarumon. Izzy and Palmon locate them and destroy Centarumon’s Black Gear. Centarumon then explains that the children’s items are Digivices. Leomon appears and attacks, but Izzy and Mimi use their Digivice lights to drive him away. This action unintentionally causes their island to retract towards Infinity Island.
EP 11Joe and Sora face Lord Bakemon after meeting Ogremon at sea
May 16, 1999Following a sea encounter with Ogremon, Joe and Gomamon reach an island where they reunite with Sora and Biyomon. The group is targeted by a Bakemon band seeking to consume humans. Gomamon and Biyomon escape and digivolve to battle Lord Bakemon, who initially dominates the fight. Joe employs a Buddhist mantra to weaken the enemy, allowing Birdramon and Ikkakumon to destroy him. Subsequently, Joe and Sora ride their Digimon partners across the ocean to locate their missing friends.
EP 12T.K. and Patamon visit Primary Village and face Elecmon's challenge
May 23, 1999T.K. and Patamon arrive at Primary Village, the birthplace of all Digimon. When infant Digimon begin crying, they encounter the area's guardian, Elecmon. Misinterpreting their presence as hostile, Elecmon attacks Patamon, which intensifies the babies' distress. To resolve the conflict peacefully, T.K. suggests a tug-of-war contest. Patamon emerges victorious, earning Elecmon's respect and permission to remain in the village. Concurrently, Devimon perceives T.K. as a danger and dispatches Leomon to pursue him.
EP 13The Digidestined Legend: Leomon's Prophecy and Angemon's Sacrifice
May 30, 1999Leomon and Ogremon assault Primary Town to capture T.K. while Tai, Matt, Izzy, and Mimi arrive. Devimon enhances Leomon with Black Gears, but Tai and Matt purify him using their Digivices. Leomon reveals the DigiDestined prophecy before the group travels to Infinity Mountain for a final battle against Devimon, who absorbs Black Gears and Ogremon to grow stronger. Even with Sora and Joe joining, the DigiDestined struggle as Devimon targets T.K. Patamon finally Digivolves into Angemon, who knocks Ogremon out and defeats Devimon with Hand of Fate. The victory leaves Angemon near death, and Devimon warns of stronger evil Digimon. As Angemon’s data forms a DigiEgg and File Island reforms, the DigiDestined receive a message from a mysterious old man.
EP 14The group travels to Server Continent with help from freed Whamon to find Crest Tags.
Jun 6, 1999After battling Devimon, a holographic Gennai instructs the DigiDestined to reach the Continent of Server to defeat a new foe, explaining that Crests enable further Digimon Digivolution. The team constructs a raft with friendly Digimon to cross the Net Ocean. Following their departure from File Island, Patamon’s DigiEgg hatches into Poyomon, and the group is swallowed by Whamon, who remains controlled by a Black Gear. Tai uses his Digivice to liberate Whamon, who then guides them to an undersea shop holding the Tags containing the Crests. Inside, they face Drimogimon possessed by a Black Gear. While the Digimon fight, the children locate the Tags. Kabuterimon destroys the gear, freeing Drimogimon, and Whamon continues transporting the group toward Server.
EP 15The DigiDestined face Etemon's dark network and discover Tai's Crest of Courage
Jun 13, 1999Upon reaching Server, the DigiDestined encounter a Koromon village where Pagumon host a welcome party. During the event, Poyomon digivolves into Tokomon, who is secretly abducted while Gajimon alert their leader, the evil ultimate-level Digimon Etemon. The next day, the group searches for Tokomon and finds him imprisoned at a waterfall guarded by Gajimon, with Agumon also present. After rescuing the captive trainee Digimon, Etemon arrives and utilizes his Dark Network to amplify his singing, forcing Greymon and Garurumon back to their base forms and destroying the Koromon village. The group seeks refuge in a cave, where they find Tai's Crest of Courage. This discovery enables them to escape Etemon and travel to a desert.
EP 16The group enters a Roman coliseum where Greymon fights a counterpart
Jun 20, 1999While traversing a desert, Joe’s Tag reacts, guiding the group into a Roman-style coliseum. They become trapped by Etemon, forcing Greymon to battle another Greymon. After Joe discovers his Crest of Reliability, the group manages to escape. Tai then tries to compel Greymon to Digivolve to its ultimate form by intentionally placing himself in danger. This action causes Greymon to transform into SkullGreymon, which attacks everyone present before eventually reverting to a regretful Koromon.
EP 17The group finds a desert ship captained by Kokatorimon who petrifies partners before Biyomon and Palmon defeat him.
Jun 27, 1999Lost in the desert, the group is rescued by a ship captained by Kokatorimon. He captures the boys and turns their Digimon partners to stone. Biyomon and Palmon digivolve to defeat Kokatorimon, causing his ship to crash into a giant cactus. The top of the cactus then opens to reveal Mimi's Crest of Sincerity.
EP 18Piximon arrives to help traumatized Tai and Agumon defeat a Tyrannomon threat.
Jul 4, 1999The group suffers an attack by Kuwagamon while Tai and Agumon remain hindered by trauma from the SkullGreymon incident. Piximon intervenes to save them and proposes training at his facility, separating the group by assigning manual labor to some while taking Tai and Agumon into a cave. During this time, Matt discovers his Crest of Friendship and Izzy finds his Crest of Knowledge, which alerts the Dark Network. Etemon subsequently dispatches a Tyrannomon to pursue them. Piximon engages the enemy but deliberately avoids defeating it, intending for Tai and Agumon to handle the threat. Upon their return, Agumon digivolves to Greymon and successfully defeats the Tyrannomon.
EP 19Discovery of Hope Crest leads to betrayal by Datamon in Etemon's pyramid
Jul 11, 1999T.K.'s Crest of Hope is found in a cave with Digi-code, leading Izzy to theorize the Digital World is virtual reality. An email from inside Etemon's upside-down pyramid headquarters asks for help. Tai, emboldened by Izzy's theory, leads the group to meet Datamon, creator of the Dark Network. Datamon promises Sora's Crest in exchange for freedom. After being released, Datamon betrays the DigiDestined as Etemon arrives, kidnapping Sora and Biyomon into another section of the pyramid. Izzy explains he might be wrong about the inability to die, but Tai becomes too frightened to pursue Datamon.
EP 20MetalGreymon's Earthquake Strikes as Tai and Koromon Return to Tokyo
Jul 25, 1999Matt, T.K., Mimi, and Joe distract Etemon's forces while Tai and Izzy infiltrate a pyramid to rescue Sora. Izzy and Kabuterimon hold off Etemon, allowing Tai to save Sora from a clone created by Datamon, who sought her Crest and Biyomon to destroy Etemon. As the group escapes, Datamon activates the Dark Network, absorbing data from Etemon and himself. Etemon survives but is fused to the network from the waist down, planning to eliminate the DigiDestined. Tai and Greymon confront Etemon Chaos, prompting Tai's crest to trigger Greymon's digivolution into MetalGreymon. The ensuing battle opens a portal that sucks in Etemon Chaos and transports Tai and a regressed Koromon back to Tokyo.
EP 21Tai and Koromon visit Tokyo, discover time differences, and return to the Digital World after battling Ogremon.
Aug 1, 1999Tai and Koromon spend a couple hours in Tokyo and meet Tai's younger sister Kari Kamiya, who missed summer camp. Tai realizes time moves faster in the Digital World than in the real world, receiving a message from Izzy advising him not to return. They find Digimon appearing randomly in the Real World and decide they must go back to help their friends. Koromon Digivolves to Agumon to fight an Ogremon, triggering a portal that transports them back to the Digital World. Upon returning to the Kamiya residence, it is revealed that there is another Digivice present.
EP 22Tai and Agumon help T.K. defeat DemiDevimon’s scheme to separate them.
Aug 8, 1999Tai and Agumon return to the Digital World to locate Tokomon, who informs them that weeks have passed since their disappearance and the group scattered. Matt had previously been forced to leave him and T.K., after which they encountered DemiDevimon, an imp Digimon who manipulated T.K. into accepting him as a friend. While Tai and Agumon intervene, they remain unaware that DemiDevimon is collecting amnesic mushrooms to feed to the boys. Agumon exposes the plot with assistance from an unseen Sora, restoring the friendship between T.K. and Tokomon. Tokomon then digivolves back to Patamon and drives DemiDevimon away. Tai resolves to search for the remaining members to reunite the group and find a way home.
EP 23Matt and Joe face debt at Digitamamon's diner while DemiDevimon causes trouble
Aug 15, 1999Matt and Gabumon encounter Joe and Gomamon, who are working at Digitamamon's diner to repay a meal debt. Matt agrees to help Joe, but DemiDevimon tricks Digitamamon into keeping the boys, staging accidents that strain Matt's trust in Joe. When Tai and T.K. arrive, the situation escalates into a violent confrontation. Matt recognizes Joe as a true friend, prompting Gabumon to digivolve into WereGarurumon to defeat Digitamamon. Following this victory, the group splits up: Matt, Gabumon, T.K., and Patamon head to the mountains, while Tai, Agumon, Joe, and Gomamon sail across the lake.
EP 24Izzy is trapped by Vademon and loses curiosity until he regains his crest and digivolves Kabuterimon
Aug 22, 1999Izzy separates from the group to search for Tai but falls victim to Demidevimon’s trickery. He becomes imprisoned in Vademon’s pocket dimension, where his curiosity is stripped away. During this ordeal, Tentomon reverts to its infant form, Pabumon, before eventually breaking Izzy’s trance. While Izzy is dazed, DemiDevimon tries to purchase Izzy’s crest from Vademon. Seizing the opportunity, Izzy reclaims his crest and restores his curiosity. He then forces Kabuterimon to digivolve into MegaKabuterimon, allowing him to defeat Vademon. Shortly after this victory, Izzy and Motimon are discovered by Matt and T.K.
