After a strange baby hatches from an egg, Arale and Senbei attempt to raise it. They discover the creature consumes metal and possesses immense strength after surviving a high fall caused by Arale’s accidental throw. During a nighttime bath, the pair observes that the baby has wings. They decide to name it Gadzilla, though they use the nickname Gatchan, and welcome it as a family member. The following morning, Gatchan wakes up early and proceeds to play pranks on the residents of Penguin Village.
