Ep. 16: Ruri shares the story of Senku's father Byakuya becoming an astronaut

Ruri explains that she learned Senku's name from a story told by her mother. This tale describes how Senku built an electric suit to help his father, Byakuya, pass the JAXA swimming exam. After passing, Byakuya became an astronaut and traveled to the International Space Station five years later. He joined cosmonaut Shamil Volkov, American singer Lillian Weinburg, and crew members Connie, Dalia, and Yakov. While aboard the station, the six astronauts witnessed the event that petrified all humanity on Earth, making them the only surviving humans.
