Kami engages in combat with Piccolo, his evil half, while explaining to Goku that he must defeat him. Kami reasons that Goku will hesitate to kill Piccolo because their lives are linked, meaning Piccolo's death would also kill Kami. During the fight, Kami attempts to use the Mafuba technique to seal Piccolo inside a Denshi jar, replicating an event from centuries ago. However, Piccolo counters this attack, successfully sealing Kami in the Denshi jar and swallowing it. Before being trapped, Kami urgently pleads with Goku to destroy Piccolo at any cost, leaving the outcome of their conflict in Goku's hands.
