Ep. 242: Goku urges Piccolo to hide while Gohan seeks the Z Sword with Kibito's help.

Babidi demands information on Piccolo, Goten, and Trunks. Piccolo offers to surrender, but Goku persuades him otherwise, arguing that surrender will not halt Buu's destruction. Meanwhile, Goten and Trunks awaken and learn of Vegeta and Gohan's apparent deaths. Goku treats the boys harshly, insisting they cannot afford to mourn. Although angry that Goku did not save Gohan and Vegeta, the boys resolve to remain tough to stop Majin Buu. In the Kais' world, Kibito heals Gohan. The Supreme Kai informs Gohan about the Z Sword, a mystical blade containing immense power that even the Kais could not remove from its stone. The Supreme Kai believes Gohan has the strength to pull it free.
