A flashback reveals Mr. and Mrs. Tansu resurrected Kabru and his party, who nearly starved while fleeing an illusion spell cast by labyrinth corpse retrievers. After killing the culprits, Kabru grew depressed as fewer adventurers entered the dungeon. He deduced the thieves were Laios's party, suspecting Laios wanted to conquer the dungeon but might harm surface society. Although attacked by a sea serpent, Kabru was saved by Shuro and his new party from the East, leading him to volunteer assistance in finding Falin. In the present, two days after killing the dragon, Laios and his friends remain trapped in an underground city where all exits have vanished, leaving them in danger of starving to death.
