Shinra Kishitani converses with Celty Sturluson via chat room as she recounts her journey. Celty lost her head at a cemetery and traveled to Ikebukuro after hearing from Izaya that a street artist saw a headless dullahan. She attempts to find the artist with help from Shizuo, but he cannot draw her head due to lack of visual knowledge. Shinra suggests she abandon her search to live together, which upsets her. Flashbacks reveal Shinra first met Celty as a child when his father, Shingen Kishitani, proposed dissecting her in exchange for shelter, noting her rapid healing.
