Ep. 8: Obi reviews Hibana's research on insect-based Infernals while Shinra and Arthur pursue Lieutenant priests.
Captain Obi analyzes Hibana's findings regarding insects introduced into human cores to create Infernals. At Company 1, Shinra and Arthur witness a human transformation and pursue the perpetrators, encountering Lieutenant priests Flam Karim and Hoshimiya Rekka. Shinra and Arthur investigate Karim's room, discovering an insect in a vial, though Karim suggests Rekka is responsible. Meanwhile, Rekka gathers children with Tamaki, promising protection before rendering her unconscious and turning their carer into an Infernal. He claims to serve the Evangelist by finding a "pilot light," infecting a child who successfully extinguishes the resulting fire, proving compatibility. When Tamaki attempts to ignite, Rekka attacks her, but Shinra intervenes after witnessing her flame.
