Meanwhile, Zoda and Black Shadow plot to eliminate Rick using The Skull, who uses a strand of hair to cast a curse. Rick visits a lakeside, reminiscing about his deceased fiancée Haruka and his unfulfilled promise to propose. The Skull approaches Rick, extracting his name to activate the spell. A woman named Sophia, resembling Haruka, defects to Rick for asylum. When Rick says her name, the curse weakens him, revealing Sophia as an assassin. She attacks, but Haruka's proposal ring reflects moonlight, distracting her long enough for Rick to escape. Black Shadow punishes the failed assassins, while Jody warns Rick of future dangers.
