Ep. 38: Erza confronts Irene while Natsu rejects dragon or demon transformation to save Fiore

Erza destroys Irene’s meteor and uses Wendy’s magic to wound her, but they cannot win. Remembering her choice to spare Erza as a baby, Irene realizes she still loves her daughter and impales herself with Erza’s sword. Erza pays respects to her mother. Meanwhile, Igneel tells Natsu to destroy a seed in his body to survive, which might turn him into a dragon or demon. Natsu refuses to lose his humanity and destroys both seeds. He revives just before Universe One ends, restoring Fiore’s shape. The Fairy Tail members return to Magnolia, where Natsu and his friends prepare to go back to the guildhall.
