Ep. 41: Mavis summons allies while Zeref attacks Larcade and August faces Gildarts
Mavis uses telepathy to summon Gray, Lucy, and Happy for her strategy against Zeref, leaving Natsu to fight the increasingly violent curse-affected sorcerer. Larcade tries to help Zeref kill Natsu, but Zeref attacks him, revealing Larcade is an Etherious he created. Meanwhile, August withstands attacks from Gildarts and Cana. After observing August dodge Cana’s cards, Gildarts identifies a weakness to tool-based magic and injures August with a spell using his prosthetic arm. Flashbacks reveal that Mavis’s son was abandoned by Precht while Mavis was in stasis. Raised with knowledge of his parents, the boy meets Zeref, who recognizes his resemblance to Mavis. Zeref names him after a month of cherished time with her, revealing the boy is August.
