With Haruko and Kanti as fugitives, smoke engulfs Mabase as Mamimi discovers a robot that grows after consuming her phone. Haruko returns to the Nandaba residence, prompting a tearful confrontation with Naota. Commander Amarao and Lieutenant Kitsurubami retrieve a terminal core from the river, which absorbs Kanti before Haruko feeds Naota to it. She intends to drill into the giant hand to extract Atomsk. Kanti halts the hand's attack on the Medical Mechanica plant as Naota emerges glowing with Atomsk's energy. Enraged, Haruko attacks Naota, but he stops her by kissing her, allowing Atomsk to fully emerge and consume the core before flying into space. Haruko initially invites Naota to space on her Space Vespa but refuses because he is still a kid. Mamimi photographs Haruko's guitar among the rubble, inspiring her to pursue photography. Life in Mabase returns to normal, though a plucked guitar string suggests Haruko might return.
