Ep. 17: Arisa’s Transformation Through Kindness and New Friendships

Arisa, rescued from her gang by Tohru and Kyoko, begins to embrace a loving environment she never knew. Despite others misinterpreting her actions as bullying, Arisa quits the gang after Kyoko saves her and shares a philosophy about understanding pain through hardship. Arisa declares her desire to be Tohru’s best friend, leading to a close bond that lasts until Kyoko’s death. In the present, Arisa deflects threats from female delinquents by teaching them alternative ways to show off. Her growth is fueled by Kyoko’s words and Tohru’s influence. The episode concludes with Arisa happily cooking and scolding her father for drinking, a stark contrast to their past. A post-credits scene shows two delinquents imitating Arisa, while a third feels uncomfortable.
