On the eve of starting high school, Ashiya Hanae is possessed by a peculiar fuzzy youkai. This possession makes him sick, forcing him to visit the nurse's office frequently during the beginning of his school term. During this time, he discovers contact details for the Mononokean, an organization dedicated to exorcising youkai, and decides to reach out to them. Eventually, Ashiya visits the Mononokean headquarters, where he meets the gloomy master, Abeno Haruitsuki, marking the start of his involvement with supernatural entities.
