Ashiya takes a part-time job at the Mononokean, where the master Abeno instructs him to ignore all youkai except those visiting the establishment. Despite these orders, Ashiya’s compassionate nature prevents him from turning a blind eye, causing the spirits to persistently pursue him. Abeno observes the group's impressive strength and large numbers, leading him to conclude that a powerful demon is likely commanding them as their leader.
