Ep. 49: Tamahome proposes a wedding to Miaka while Nakago threatens Yui and kills the Emperor
Keisuke reveals to Miaka that summoning a beast god requires a sacrifice. After Miaka informs Yui that Suboshi is dead, they plan to attend school. Keisuke urges Tamahome to return to the Universe of the Four Gods. Miaka shares Nakago’s deceit with Yui and provides a letter from Okuda detailing the beast gods. Yui discovers scales on her arm and flees. Meanwhile, Nakago murders the Emperor of Kutou and orders the execution of his family and government. Miaka intercepts Tamahome as he prepares to leave, begging him to stay. Tamahome proposes a wedding ceremony, which they perform. Nakago then confronts Yui, who confirms Miaka’s warnings and runs. Tamahome finds Yui, but Nakago arrives, revealing his conquest plans. Tamahome claims they are characters in a book, but Nakago overpowers him in their fight.
