EP 1Miaka's pregnancy ends as Mayo enters the book world to rescue her.
Dec 21, 2001Three years after Miaka entered the Universe of the Four Gods, she is married to Taka, the reincarnation of Tamahome, while Kisuke coaches a girls basketball team. Mayo Sakaki, a team member with feelings for Taka, becomes depressed upon learning of his marriage and Miaka's three-month pregnancy. Upon entering the book, Mayo causes Miaka to faint, and doctors discover the baby has vanished from Miaka's womb. Taka enters the book to rescue Mayo, arriving in a world where ten years have passed and conditions are deteriorating. He quickly reunites with Chichiri and Tasuki, and the trio battles an evil entity disguised as Genbu. Although they defeat the foe, Taka is injured. Taiitsukun then appears, explaining that they must locate the remaining Suzaku Seven, who have all been reborn.
EP 2Mayo is deceived by a false Suzaku while the group encounters Chousei and Shouka
Feb 25, 2002A deceptive Suzaku tricks Mayo into believing Taka and others intend to harm Miaka and her unborn child. Meanwhile, Taka, Chichiri, and Taisuki locate Chiriko, now an infant named Gakurei, who retains memories of his past life but chooses to remain behind to address the world's decline. He provides three horses to aid their journey, but Taka soon falls ill and collapses. They meet Shouka, who offers water, and Chousei, who is revealed to be Mitsukake. Although Chousei initially refuses to join them, Shouka persuades him to leave, only for her to be attacked by strange birds. The group returns to find Shouka near death and Chousei possessed by a false Byakko. Once freed, Chousei regains his Mitsukake powers and heals both Shouka and Taka.
EP 3The group rescues Ko Reishun and recruits Shu Eian while Mayo confronts her fading existence.
Apr 25, 2002The party encounters Ko Reishun in a small town, only for her to be seized by a demon. Taka defeats the creature with a holy sword, but its upper half escapes to a lake, where the group battles and vanquishes a fake Seiryuu. Recognizing Reishun as the reborn Nuriko, they invite her to join their journey to the capital. Meanwhile, in Konan, Mayo deceives Reizeitei about Miaki and Hotohori, prompting him to question her worthiness. Contacted by her friend Saori via a medium, Mayo discovers she lacks a reflection and is becoming transparent. After Yotaigo reveals the truth about her past with Hotohori, Mayo apologizes for her deceit. Later, the group meets Shu Eian at a grave, identifying him as Hotohori’s reincarnation and recruiting him. As they depart, they fend off a fake Suzaku attack by deploying a decoy Eian.
EP 4Taka Saves Mayo From Suicide Before Suzaku Summoning
Jun 25, 2002Taiitsukun warns that the Shinzaho is endangered. Keisuke contacts Taka via a cell phone charm to report Mayo’s critical state. Taka realizes Mayo intends to die and orders Chichiri to teleport the group back to the palace. There, Mayo is attacked by a fake Suzaku, causing her body to flicker. Depressed, she attempts suicide, but Taka arrives in time to rescue her, Miaka, and Miaka’s baby. They learn Miaka sent the baby with Mayo to save Konan. Before the summoning ceremony, Mayo and Miaka vanish, then reappear to summon the real Suzaku. Suzaku uses Taka’s body to destroy the impostor. Taka and Mayo return to the real world, while Miaka wakes in the hospital. Miaka later gives birth to a girl named Hikari. The Universe of the Four Gods reappears on a shelf.
