Ep. 9: Kazuya’s literacy reforms transform Ginger’s slave trade into an educational enterprise

Kazuya faces a labor shortage due to low literacy, prompting him to announce that noble status will depend on land management skills. This decree creates a sudden demand for literate workers. Ginger Camus, who inherited a slave trade from his grandfather, initially promises his slaves, including San, that they will only be sold to kind owners. He then begins teaching them to read and count, confusing them. When Kazuya offers to buy San, Ginger refuses because he has fallen in love with her. Kazuya then reveals his true identity and explains his plan to reform the slavery system to prevent civil war by converting slaves into paid employees with access to education. Impressed by this vision, Ginger accepts an offer to become the director of a private training center, which he will own alongside San.
