Following his victory at Astarte, Reinhard receives a promotion to imperial admiral on Odin, the capital planet of the Galactic Empire. Accompanied by his friend Siegfried Kircheis, he visits their elder sister Annerose, who is favored by the Emperor. During this visit, Kircheis recalls the origins of his friendship with Reinhard. He also remembers how Annerose was removed from her home to serve the Emperor. These memories reinforce their shared resentment toward the high nobility and the Goldenbaum dynasty.
