The Wahlen Imperial fleet approaches Earth orbit, where a cultist on the flagship strikes Wahlen with a poisoned blade, resulting in the amputation of his arm and a subsequent coma. Concurrently, Julian and Poplan discover that the food provided to cultists contains minute traces of Thyoxin, a mind control poison. Julian experiences withdrawal symptoms and reunites with his companions in the infirmary. Upon waking, Wahlen commands a ground assault and missile bombardments against the Terraism fortress. Imperial forces, alongside Julian’s friends who are disguised as Phezzan infiltrators, collaborate to fight the Earth Cultists. Julian and the group successfully escape with the Terraism data as the cultists detonate their fortress.
