Ep. 35: Matsudaira’s Plot to Stop Shichibei and Kuriko’s Date at the Amusement Park

Matsudaira summons Kondou, Hijikata, and Okita to the Ikedaya, announcing that a mysterious figure is making his move. He declares a showdown is imminent, prompting the trio to pledge their support despite not knowing the target’s identity. At the amusement park, they observe Shichibei flirting with Kuriko, Matsudaira’s daughter. Realizing Matsudaira intends to assassinate Shichibei to protect his daughter, Hijikata is appalled and attempts to leave. However, Kondou and Okita decide to participate in the operation. Consequently, the group engages in a dramatic and somber stakeout, aiming to disrupt the couple’s date.
