Ep. 1: Late freshman Banri Tada meets Mitsuo Yanagisawa and encounters his childhood friend Kouko Kaga.

Banri Tada, a freshman law student at a Tokyo university, arrives late for his entrance ceremony and follows two students to find his way. He meets Mitsuo Yanagisawa, another freshman, who becomes his friend. During orientation, a young woman gives Mitsuo roses and hits him with them. Mitsuo explains she is Kouko Kaga, his childhood friend and arranged fiancé, whom he fled because he does not love her. Banri and Mitsuo discover Kouko attends their university, horrifying Mitsuo. Kouko meets Banri in a shared class, and he develops feelings for her. Banri also befriends freshman Chinami Oka and Linda, a second-year Japanese Festival Culture Research Club member. Later, Banri encounters Kouko again, who used his phone to find Mitsuo. When he returns the phone, he sees a hospital number and recalls being hit by a motorbike on a bridge.
