During a scheduled club outing, Banri grows wary of attendees wearing identical pendants who transport them to a secluded area. The group reveals themselves as a cult seeking recruits, but Banri negotiates their release by claiming amnesia from a post-high school accident. Kōko chooses to remain with Banri, and the pair escape into the woods. While hiding, they bond; Kōko admits her aloofness toward Mitsuo stems from her feelings for him and confesses she used Banri to get closer to him. Banri confirms his amnesia story is true, explaining he feels pressured to revert to his pre-college self despite not wanting to lose his current identity. As cult members search for them, the duo flees deeper into the forest until they are discovered by Linda.
