Banri wakes from a fragmented dream of fleeing a hospital and meets Kouko at the university gate. He observes her loneliness while waiting for Mitsuo, but Mitsuo dismisses Banri's concerns. Mitsuo invites Banri to a Film Club party, which is interrupted by the Tea Club. Banri meets Takaya Satō, known as Nijigen. The following day, Banri encourages Kouko to join a club. A student overhears them and invites both to a café, where she promotes her club's overnight trip. Hoping to help Kouko, Banri agrees to accompany her on the excursion.
