Ep. 1: Dormitory girls grapple with guilt over Yuuji's past while reading his story

Dormitory residents feel guilty about discovering Yuuji's history but continue reading. The flashback begins in a hospital where Asako Kusakabe and her friend JB visit him. Asako declares she will be his god and takes him home, where she sees his scars. During dinner, Yuuji accidentally kills a fly and displays trauma from killing people. Asako tries to feed him, but he rejects her cooking. She gifts him a dog named John, who becomes his companion. Asako trains Yuuji, who excels at sharpshooting. Later, a bear attacks the house and kills John while Asako is away. Yuuji chases the bear but cannot shoot it after seeing it feeding its cubs. He feels useless, but Asako consoles him. While burying John, Asako tells Yuuji he cannot die until he saves five people and should become someone who pulls the trigger for others.
