Ep. 2: Wendelin Conceals Magic Amidst Inheritance Strife and Alfred's Final Request

Wendelin hides his magic to avoid Kurt’s assassination threat, as it would secure his inheritance. Alfred, suffering from cold skin and pain, reveals he is a Whispering Dead who died during a failed expedition. He returned to train Wendelin, teaching him flight magic for travel and holy magic to purge his undead state. To afford the expensive Adventurers Academy tuition, Wendelin plans to work while studying. His decision to become an adventurer reduces Kurt’s suspicion. After Alfred accepts his fate and passes on, Wendelin eventually leaves his family years later to pursue his goal of becoming an adventurer.
