Ep. 1: Elric brothers and military hunt rogue alchemist McDougal in Central

Edward and Alphonse Elric, already established despite Edward's brief military tenure, are tasked by Führer King Bradley and Colonel Roy Mustang to capture rogue state alchemist Isaac McDougal. After a successful ambush, Edward’s carelessness allows McDougal to escape. The brothers and military forces confront him again when he activates multiple transmutation circles in Central, triggering an alchemic reaction across the command center. Edward suspects a philosopher's stone but cannot confirm it. Major Alex Louis Armstrong, Mustang, and the Elric brothers ultimately thwart McDougal’s plan to bury Central in ice. As McDougal attempts to flee, Führer Bradley engages him in a brief battle and easily slices him to death. Bradley subsequently credits Mustang and the Elric brothers for their assistance in completing the mission.
