Jaken and Sesshoumaru wait outside Mount Musubi, where the cat-eared demon girl Rion has been sealed for six centuries. Moroha enters the spiritual shield due to her powers and meets Rion, who offers to reveal Towa and Setsuna’s locations if Moroha lets go of her most precious possession. Moroha breaks through with her sacred arrow into the border between the mortal world and the Afterlife, where she encounters a gigantic skeletal corpse, unaware it is her paternal grandfather. Meanwhile, Inuyasha and Kagome Higurashi reconcile after fourteen years of imprisonment in the demon graveyard. Inuyasha notes the Tessaiga fang is stirring, while Moroha’s arrows react emotionally upon seeing her parents, whom she recognizes from a photo shown by Uncle Sōta. Kagome is excited to see her firstborn child as a teenager, and Inuyasha expresses relief that she has survived without their guidance. Elsewhere, Towa is tested by teacher Osamu Kirin, while Setsuna meets the sleeping eighteen-year-old Rin at the Sacred Tree of Ages. Setsuna realizes her violin song is a memory from her mother, who has not aged in fourteen years since giving birth to Towa and Setsuna with help from Kaede, Kagome, and Sango.
