Hayate receives transfer documents for Hakuou Academy and cries with joy. He studies intensely for the next day's exam, ignoring Maria's warnings against stress. His sleep is repeatedly interrupted by Klaus and Tama, leading to severe exhaustion. The next day, Yukiji Katsura attempts to relax him before the test, but this further drains his energy. Consequently, Hayate fails the entrance exam by a single point. Yukiji is tasked with informing Hayate of the result but hesitates, believing her actions caused his failure.
