On February 1, a marathon event is held at Hakuou Academy. Maria and Hayate urge Nagi to join, leading to a wager with Klaus: Nagi must win a race to prove Hayate’s value as a butler, or he will be fired. Hinagiku reveals the winner receives 150 million yen, a fact that causes her sister Yukiji to burst in. Hayate trains with Nagi for two days. On race day, they start slowly. Saki’s commentary embarrasses Wataru. Hayate carries Nagi for most of the course, facing obstacles. Hinagiku is led onto a bridge but stops due to fear of heights. Nagi continues alone and nears the finish line, but Yukiji, having left Kyonosuke behind, crosses first at the last minute. Yukiji wins the 150 million yen, surprising everyone.
