Hayate offers cookies he baked, leading Hinagiku to reveal her past abandonment and the 80 million yen debt left by her family. She relates to Hayate’s situation. He takes her to the terrace to view the night city, the same spot where they first met. This beautiful sight helps Hinagiku realize she is in love with Hayate, though fear of him disappearing like her biological parents keeps her silent. The next day, she greets him by name.
