Investigations reveal the culprit is a war veteran obsessed with mass death. Authorities successfully apprehend the Pyrotechnician and detain him in a cell adjacent to Narihisago. Once secured, Narihisago examines the killer's psychological profile, identifying specific motives and vulnerabilities. He then systematically manipulates the Pyrotechnician, ultimately forcing him to take his own life. The Perforator observes this interaction from his nearby cell, witnessing the conclusion of the confrontation without intervening.

Police arrest the copycat but fail to save the victim in time. Meanwhile, Momoki discusses Narihisago’s killing urges in prison, affirming their friendship. The episode concludes with Haruka Kazuta, a missing man previously targeted by the Perforator killer, suddenly kissing Hondomachi at the copycat’s crime scene.

Jan 27, 2020After Kazuta kisses Hondomachi, she reports the incident to Matsuoka, who suspects Kazuta is the Gravedigger killer. Matsuoka theorizes that the Perforator’s injury caused his unconscious mind to confuse his urges to kiss and kill, suggesting a craving for love drives his actions. Sakaido explores Kazuta’s id, providing evidence that confirms his guilt to the investigation team. Officer Nishimura and his unit raid Kazuta’s home to arrest him, but they arrive too late to prevent a rigged gas explosion that kills the officers and destroys the crime scene. Their minds are transported into serial killer id wells established in previous episodes. Hayaseura enters the Kura cockpit room with Narihisago, Hondomachi, and Fukuda, admitting he created the Kura system to catch serial killers. He views the creation of serial killers as a minor side effect of his greater cause, aiming to turn all of Kura into a giant Mizuhanome for large-scale investigations. He then enters a Kura cockpit and commits suicide, allowing his mind to continue living and working in the Well world. Narihisago and Hondomachi enter other cockpits to pursue him, while Fukuda falls into a deep sleep due to Kiki's presence. Having created multiple serial killer Wells and entered and exited Kiki's mind repeatedly, Walker now shares much of Kiki's unconscious and can freely teleport to different Wells Kiki has been part of. Walker reminds Hondomachi of her real identity to trap her in a Well storm, but she is rescued by Fukuda, who used his arithmomania to track her down. They lure him into an id Well created from Fukuda's cognizant particles, using a cockpit Fukuda secretly left before his death. This device transfers Walker's mind to the moment before his suicide in the previous episode, allowing Narihisago to apprehend him in that timeline. With Walker dead in reality and captured in the Well, he is neutralized. Momoki offers to save Kiki, but she refuses, fearing her growing ability to share thoughts globally makes her too dangerous outside the Mizuhanome. She agrees to re-enter containment, and Momoki promises to find a solution. Normalcy returns for survivors, though those who died in the Well remain gone. An epilogue reveals Chief Hayaseura's death was covered up as suicide by the Kura Department. Narihisago and Hondomachi continue their work as Wellside detectives.
