Ep. 1: Shu meets Lala-Ru during sunset before being transported to Hellywood

Shuzo Matsutani suffers a defeat in a kendo match due to defensive flaws. While walking, he encounters Lala-Ru observing the sunset from a smokestack. Their conversation is interrupted when time freezes and a green beam envelops the area. Officers operating snakelike machines capture Lala-Ru and transport her to the stationary battleship Hellywood. Shu is inadvertently pulled along with her. Pursued by soldiers, the pair becomes separated at an operating bridge within a water tower. Shu retrieves Lala-Ru's pendant before falling into a tunnel that leads to the exterior. He emerges into a barren wasteland, leaving the battleship behind.
