Lala-Ru is brought before Abelia, who notices her missing pendant and suspects Shu possesses it. Nabuca confronts Shu on a bridge above a furnace, but the pendant falls into the abyss during their struggle. Shu disarms Nabuca by holding his knife and rescues him when the structure collapses. Subsequently, Shu is arrested and presented to an angry Hamdo, who demands information about the pendant. It is revealed that Lala-Ru can manipulate the water source within the pendant, a capability essential for rebuilding a battleship. Hamdo commands Abelia to use any means necessary to torture Shu into revealing its location.
