Aug 2, 2004Miroku visits a village where he recalls proposing to a sick girl named Shima two years ago, having tricked her parents into buying his herbs. Shima is now forced to marry a catfish demon because her father unknowingly promised her in exchange for lake water used in her medicine. Sango doubts Miroku’s feelings, especially after Shima claims they slept together, though Miroku denies this. The catfish kidnaps both Shima and Sango. Miroku defeats the yōkai by using his Wind Tunnel to dry the lake. Shima admits she lied about being betrothed to Miroku to avoid the marriage. Sango struggles to forgive him, but the couple eventually reconciles after the demon is defeated.

The group of monks arrives to defeat Ongukuki. After Sesshomaru defeats the monks, Rin faces a decision between returning to live in a human village or remaining with Sesshomaru. She ultimately chooses to stay with Sesshomaru.

Aug 23, 2004Kirara returns to her home village, reminiscing about past times with Sango and Kohaku. Kohaku is present to pay respects to his deceased relatives. Kirara is soon surrounded by demons, but Kohaku saves her. Sango encounters Kagura, who reminds her that Kohaku is bound to Naraku. Kohaku shares a secret flower garden of lilies with Kirara, but flees to avoid the shame of being discovered by Sango. Sango meets Kirara, who shows her the flowers. Sango realizes Kohaku was recently there with Kirara.

Aug 30, 2004Naraku acquires the Fuyouheki orb from mountain demon Gakusaijin, who subsequently releases parasite chrysalis demons. Inuyasha and his companions purify a fox deity possessed by one such demon in a town. Another parasite chrysalis demon possesses Shippo, causing him to attack his friends and townspeople using devious fox magic. Inuyasha successfully detaches the parasite chrysalis demon from Shippo. The parasite chrysalis demons are destroyed after the group realizes Naraku orchestrated the entire incident.

Sep 6, 2004Inuyasha and his companions learn from Gakusaijin that Naraku has stolen the Fuyouheki from him. He gives crystals of his demonic aura to Miroku to allow Inuyasha's group to locate his stolen gem, thus finding Naraku. Kohaku encounters Kikyo, who is taken by surprise by Naraku, hiding his demonic aura with the Fuyouheki. Inuyasha and his companions arrive just in time to drive off Naraku. The Fuyouheki was stolen because Naraku wanted to hide the demonic aura of his detached heart (The Infant), so Kikyo tells Inuyasha that she must find the heart of Naraku to end this trouble. Hakudoshi creates an experimental series of soulless demons to attack Inuyasha's group to steal the crystals from Miroku.

Sep 13, 2004Kagura informs Sesshomaru that the Infant possesses Naraku's heart, leaving him with a crystal link to the Fuyouheki. Hakudoshi returns Kagura to the temple, where they witness Goryomaru's death. Demons are killed to gather aura that hides the Infant's presence. The heroes are trapped inside a large stone demon to be digested and have Kagome's last Shikon Jewel shard taken. Kikyo meets Kanna, who holds the Infant, but the soulless demon prevents Kikyo from attacking it. Inuyasha attaches the final shard to the Tetsusaiga, transforming into a demon. Kagome embraces him to calm him and purify the shard. They escape using a final Adamant Barrage and promise to hunt Naraku until he is destroyed.
