EP 1Kagome falls into a well and meets Inuyasha while fleeing a demon in feudal Japan.
Oct 16, 2000Kagome Higurashi, a 15-year-old girl living in present day Japan, searches for her lost cat at her family shrine and discovers a demon named Mistress Centipede revived in the well. The demon drags Kagome down, transporting her to Feudal Japan. There, she meets Priestess Kaede, who identifies Kagome as the reincarnation of her deceased sister, the powerful priestess Kikyo. Mistress Centipede follows Kagome to the village, seeking the Shikon Jewel. Kagome encounters Inuyasha, a dog hanyō, nailed to a tree by arrows. Believing him dead, she removes the arrows, only to find him alive. Inuyasha explains he was imprisoned by Sacred Arrows until her release. He then uses his superhuman powers to defeat Mistress Centipede. During the battle, a jewel emerges from Kagome’s chest, which Kaede identifies as the Shikon Jewel and gives to Kagome as its rightful heir.

Nov 13, 2000Myoga, the flea youkai servant of Inuyasha, arrives and reveals the truth regarding the deaths of Inu no Taisho and Izayoi, who are Inuyasha's father and mother respectively. Sesshomaru, identified as Inuyasha's half-brother, confronts him alongside his imp youkai servant Jaken, taking the revived Izayoi captive. Izayoi eventually breaks free and leads Inuyasha and Kagome to a spirit world. In this realm, it is recognized that Izayoi's face does not reflect in the water, confirming her spiritual nature.
EP 6Inuyasha and Kagome pursue Sesshomaru into the tomb to claim the legendary Tetsusaiga sword.
Nov 20, 2000Kagome deduces that the spirit world is an illusion designed to conceal the location of Inu no Taisho's tomb. With Kagome's help, Inuyasha breaks free from the deception. Meanwhile, Sesshomaru discovers that the tomb is hidden within a Black Pearl located inside Inuyasha's right eye. He activates a portal using the Pearl, prompting Inuyasha and Kagome to follow closely behind. Upon entering the tomb, they find Tetsusaiga, the legendary sword of Inu no Taisho. A fierce battle ensues between the brothers as Inuyasha fights Sesshomaru to gain possession of the weapon.

The two ascend to the top of the tomb for a confrontation. Inuyasha manages to severely pierce Sesshomaru with Tetsusaiga, resulting in Sesshomaru's defeat. Subsequently, Inuyasha and Kagome return to the village, having safely restored the Black Pearl to Inuyasha's right eye.
EP 8Inuyasha and Kagome rescue Princess Tsuyu from a toad youkai prince possessing a Shikon Jewel shard.
Dec 4, 2000Inuyasha and Kagome encounter a young samurai named Amari Nobunaga, who guides them to a castle where a vengeful toad youkai has possessed the reigning prince. As night falls, the trio infiltrates the fortress to rescue the captivated Princess Tsuyu. The toad youkai prince, who harbors a shard of the Shikon Jewel, attacks them and transports Tsuyu to a chamber filled with the souls of women. The others arrive shortly after and successfully free Tsuyu from her captivity. Inuyasha and Kagome then confront the toad youkai, defeat it, and retrieve its shard of the Shikon Jewel.
EP 9Inuyasha and Shippo seek Kagome held by the Thunder Brothers in the mountains.
Dec 11, 2000Inuyasha and Kagome encounter Shippo, a mischievous orphaned fox yōkai who wants a Shikon Jewel shard to avenge his father. His father was recently killed by Hiten and Manten of the Thunder Brothers. While trying to defend Shippo, Kagome is abducted by Manten and taken to the mountains. Inuyasha and Shippo then travel to the mountains to find Kagome held hostage. EP 10Inuyasha and Hiten clash while Shippo distracts Manten with illusions
Dec 18, 2000Inuyasha engages Hiten in combat while Shippo employs illusory tricks to distract Manten from Kagome. Inuyasha kills Manten using Tetsusaiga, allowing Hiten to bite Manten's forehead and fuse with the Shikon Jewel shards, doubling his power.
