During a hot summer in Jewel Land, the cafe lacks customers, prompting Ruby to open the Jewelpet Seaside Cafe on the beach. The team works hard serving food while Chiari and friends visit. Teacher Azusa warns the girls not to talk to everyone. Later, Ruby and Chiari relax at the beach and meet an old man selling pudding. Kosuke scolds the man, who is revealed to be his grandfather. The grandfather shows photos of himself as a surfer and mentions his wife, Kosuke's grandmother. He expresses a desire to ride great waves again and hopes Chiari will become close to his grandson. The group watches a volleyball match involving Kosuke, Mouri, Takumi, and Taira, with the grandfather suggesting Chiari has the potential to be his girlfriend, though she doubts the outcome.
