They are aided by Elfin, a Time Shifter who can transform objects into toys and whom Maria believes to be an angel. Flint attempts to save Maria's mother from death while simultaneously confronting Petra Fina, who transforms Elfin into Elfin-Con. With assistance from the Batterball-Master, they defeat the transformed antagonist. Following these events, Jillian Grey informs the group that interfering with history is illegal, although she decides to overlook their actions in this instance.
