A hot air balloon arrives in the jungle, making Kimba and his friends suspicious. Kimba meets Marody and his grandsons Keruru and Amaji, who are Barbary lions believed to be extinct. The group drives Kimba away from Marody's cliff. Meanwhile, the people in the hot air balloon are hunting the Barbary lions. This encounter highlights the danger facing the rare lions and the wariness of Kimba's group toward the newcomers. The situation sets the stage for conflict between the balloon occupants and the jungle inhabitants.
