Ep. 2: Kuroitsu Observes Evil Organization While Bete Joins Monster Development and Cannon Thunderbird Fails

Kuroitsu substitutes for the food-poisoned Sadamaki on a Kyushu business trip, closely observing Megistus’s ability to multitask work, product testing, and rest. Megistus demonstrates consideration by offering his hotel room to Kuroitsu while working overnight elsewhere. Meanwhile, at Agastia headquarters, Bete officially joins the Monster Development Department as an assistant, despite his dislike for his assigned wolfgirl form. The team proposes the Cannon Thunderbird, a complex mecha-bird with railguns, but committee design and leader Akashic’s whims dilute the concept into a simple talking bird with a visor. In its debut battle, this watered-down monster is easily defeated by Blader, who questions why the organization did not create a fully armed giant mech instead.
