After Nanami leaves Tomoe sleeping, she is abducted by Mizuki, the snake yokai and former familiar, who takes her to his shrine intending to marry her. Upon realizing she cannot leave the shrine grounds, Nanami waits for rescue. She discovers that Yonomori Mitsuha, the shrine’s Water God, died years ago.
