Hampnie questions Ai about Hana and tasks her with burying villagers, confirming her role as a gravekeeper. Julie Sakuma Dmitriyevich shoots Hampnie, seeking revenge for his undead wife. Hampnie reveals his immortality and Julie’s cowardice, accepting a duel that he later ignores. Ai decides to stay a gravekeeper and leaves with Hampnie.
